BLOCDV™ CALL TO ACTION
The BLOCDV™Â Call to Action and Domestic Violence Batterers Registry is important for public safety to prevent further prevalence of domestic violence occurrences such as Zayla Strange of Falls Church, VA; Andrea Grinage of Capitol Heights, MD; Paula Renee Coles of Southeast, DC; Laura Wallen Howard County School Teacher; and Dasheria Barksdale of Alexandria, VA.
BLOCDV™, a program of the Atikal Foundation, was created by Kita Williams and Lynn Strange as a training and technical assistance program to assess and prevent the lethality of domestic violence disputes and incidents. The DV registry was an idea Ms. Lynn Strange pitched 3 years ago to key officials and community leaders. Ms. Strange is a DV Advocate, Clergy and Spokesperson for domestic violence survivor Yvette Cade, as well as the Atikal Foundation. The mission of the Atikal Foundation is to honor and empower survivors of domestic violence and cancer through love, faith, and service, using artistic expression, education and legal advocacy.
